The selection of lights in our store consists of flashlights, headlamps; cyalume sticks camping and kerosene lanterns.
Our military flashlights are angle head style patterned after the real military flashlights with extra bulb and lenses and capable of doing S.O.S with the flashlight. These flashlights come in Black. O.D. and Tan colors. Actual military angle head flashlights have not been available to the public for some years now so reproductions are available through many manufacturers. There are many imported flashlights popular with our customers. Most of these imported flashlights are bright because the manufacturers are using LED bulbs, which are brighter than normal and many are small in size so they can be carried in a purse or backpack. These flashlights also come in assorted colors.
Headlamps have become very popular with our customers. Similar to the LED flashlights, the headlamps are manufactured with LED bulbs for brightness. We have seen an increasing demand in our headlights because of the efficiency it provides. Customers like being able to have their hands free to do whatever they want, while also being able to provide extra needed lighting.
Camping lanterns have been popular since the pastime was discovered. White gas, propane or batteries power most camping lanterns. The lanterns come in all sizes and styles. They are used mainly for camping but also in case of emergency when power is not available. Slow burning and drip less candle lanterns are also available. We carry these candle lanterns in a metal tub and in a miniature candle frame.
Kerosene lanterns have also been around for years. These kerosene lanterns are similar to the ones seen on a train caboose. We sell most of ours for decoration as well as for light. Kerosene is a little more expensive and hard to find than white gas or propane. This is the main reason why these lanterns are not used for camping but more for temporary lighting.
Cyalume sticks are used during Halloween for trick-a-treaters but these sticks have become very popular with survival kits. They come in many colors and last at least 12 hours. They are bright and very easy to use as well as inexpensive.
