We have a selection of Machetes in our inventory, most of which are manufactured by the Ontario Knife Company. These knives are all steel and some coated with a black finish. We sell a variety of styles depending on the use. Some machetes have hand guards, others serrated blades and most measure anywhere from 12" to 22" long.
Although when we first started ordering and selling machetes we thought that they would only appeal to those in the military, today we are finding that they have multiple uses. Landscapers and people who are doing work in their back yards purchase machetes as a gardening tool.
Our store carries machetes from the United States (Made by Ontario Knife Company), Taiwan, Colombia and other Latin American countries. The machetes made by the Ontario Knife Company are used by our military and are a very good quality item. The machetes manufactured in Taiwan and Colombian are medium grade but is a good seller because of the price. For average people using the machete, the imported ones are sufficient and get the job done.
Our current sheath section is very small and consists of sheaths mostly for the machetes and bayonets we carry at our store. On occasion we may get in a sheath for a regular knife but we do not carry this type of sheath regularly.
In our store we carry nylon machete sheaths in 12", 18" and 22" lengths with a protective plastic inner, so the machete does not cut into them. They can be worn on belts and usually comes in a O.D. Green or Black color. We also carry a heavy-duty hard plastic sheath that the military has issued. These are green and fit 18" machetes. It comes with a sharpening mechanism at the entrance of the sheath. Manufacturers have copied this machete sheath and have sold it in black.
Our other sheaths are made for bayonets. Most of these have a plastic body and canvas webbing. These sheaths are mostly made for bayonets like the M-4, M-6 and M-10.
